USE AND CARE INSTRUCTION FOR WOOD CUTTING BOARDS AND GUARANTEE
- Wash after each use with dish washing detergent (do not use harsh detergents) and warm water and rinse thoroughly. Excess water can damage the board so do not immerse or leave under running water for a long period of time. Dry immediately.
- To sanitize (Option 1): mix 1 TBS of bleach with one quart of water and spray on the board. Allow to sit then thoroughly rinse with warm water. Dry immediately. OR: Mix a 1:1 ratio of vinegar and water. Spray on, let sit then rinse thoroughly. Dry immediately. OR: Coat the board with salt overnight.
- Wood cutting boards are NOT dishwasher safe.
- Never use a steel brush on your cutting board. (Steel scrapers or spatulas are OK and help remove moisture from the surface of the board.)
- Keep your cutting board oiled! Your cutting board came oiled but it will need to be oiled on all sides regularly (every 2-4 weeks on average) to keep the moisture barrier intact. It is recommended that the board be cleaned and a coat of oiled be applied before first use.
- Oils: Mineral oil or cutting board specific oil is preferred. Do not use organic oils such as vegetable oil and nut oils. These contains fats that can go rancid. Your cutting board came pre-oiled with Howard Cutting Board Oil which is available at most home improvement stores and grocery stores.
- Do not cut fish or fowl on our cutting board unless it has been properly oiled to create a moisture barrier.
- Stain removal tip: blot with peroxide (do not rub). This may take a while.
- Odor removal tip: Baking soda may be used for odor removal if the board has not been sufficiently cleaned and oiled after each use. Baking soda may discolor the wood of your cutting board.
- Guarantee: A 60 day guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials is offered from the time of purchase. Excludes damages resulting from neglect, accidental or intentional
damage, normal wear and tear, misuse of product, unauthorized repair, exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity and alteration or abuse of the product. Wood products ordered "unfinished"
do not come with a warranty.
Repairs or replacement under this limited warranty will be made by Kayrouz Kraft. All packing and shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer. Repair or replacement of the product (or one of equal type and quality if the product is no longer available), shall occur within 90 days after receipt of damaged product by Kayrouz Kraft Kayrouz Kraft shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from use, or for consequential damages. This warranty gives certain legal rights and there may be other rights that vary from state to state.
